Before the genocide, genocide survivors and there families were discriminated against in most sectors of life especially in education. In the aftermath of the genocide, state most survivors have lost the family support that would have enabled them to access higher education.
Survivors who wish to pursue higher education receive guidance for college enrollment, and when possible, a 4 year full scholarship through a partnership with colleges and local community supporters. Participating institutions provide a scholarship while the local community partners cover the needs that are not covered by the scholarship such as dorm room supplies as well as housing during school breaks and the holidays.
Our Partners include:
Juniata College, PA
Johnson C. Smith University, NC
Livingstone College, NC
Union County College, NJ
